Moosewood (607/273-9610)--Founded in 1973, this is a collectively owned business with 21 members who share the management and job responsibilities of the successful restaurant. Additionally, the members author an ever-growing collection of internationally-acclaimed cookbooks. With an emphasis on vegetarianism and natural foods, Moosewood features a constantly changing menu that draws inspiration from many sources, from regional American cooking to a wide variety of ethnic cuisines. Fresh fish and seafood are regularly served as are natural sodas, juices, coffees, beers and New York State wines. Located in downtown Ithaca's Dewitt Mail, Moosewood is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day except Sunday. Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
