Hangar Theatre (607/273-8588)--So-named because it's located in a converted airplane hangar, it has been Ithaca's professional troupe since 1975. One of the northeast's premier regional theaters, the Hangar presents five Mainstage productions, eight Wedge productions and Kiddstuff--a series of children's theatre. (Wedge productions are directed and performed by up-and-coming thespians; the free performances, set on a side stage in the form of a wedge, can be seen before and after the main productions.) Located on Route 89 in Cass Park, the theatre charges between $12 and $26 for its Mainstage productions. Its season runs from June through August.
