The Cayuga Lake area is rich with culture, history and interesting spots to spend a few hours, a weekend or a week. From antique stores to natural wonders, from tickling your toes in the cool Cayuga waters to dining at one of our lovely renowned local restaurants, there is plenty of experiences offered along the Byway. The destinations mentioned here are a few not to be missed on your travels in and around the Finger Lakes region.

Taughannock Falls State Park

Located near Trumansburg, Taughannock Falls in one of the highest waterfalls in the Northeast US. The 215 foot waterfall drops through a rock ampihtheater whose walls reach nearly 400 feet high. The scenic park is filed with lots of activities, including hiking, swimming, fishing, limited cross-country skiing and their Summer Concert Series on the lawn.

The park is located about 8 miles North of Ithaca or 4 miles South from Trumansburg along Route 89.
